ポール・マッカトニーの来日に備えてーセットリストについて色々と考えてみました

TOTOとずっと大騒ぎをしていたら、あと17日でポール・マッカートニーが来日します。去年来たばかりだから、チケットはとれるかなと思ったら、あっさり落選してしまいました。すでにポールはツアーを進めていて、サンノゼのセットリストを参考に今日の記事を書きました。

セットリスト比較
ポールはすでに4月28日にサンノゼでライブをしており、セットリストについて去年の日本公演と比較をしてみました。そうすると去年と同じOut There ツアーなので、セットリストは曲順も変わっていませんが、

今年のほうが1曲多く、All You Need is Loveが追加されました。それにしても一つのライブで40曲演奏するというのは、あまり聞いたことがないのですが、この内26曲がビートルズ、7曲がウィングス、残りがソロになってからの曲です。

最後にヘイジュードを持ってくるところが、今更ですが渋いというか、盛り上がりますよね。これは。
次にEncoreでは、ビートルズの渋い名曲から始まり、アップテンポのHi, Hi, Hi 、最後に名曲中の名曲ゲット・バックというのがにくいですなあ。

２回めのEncoreは、すべてビートルズの曲。しかもオープニングがイエスタデイ。凄い配慮です。その後はホワイトアルバムとアビーロードからの選曲ということで、アルバムとして評価の高い２枚から演奏と言うのは凄いなあと思いました。

セットリストを改めてみた感想はと言うと、ビートルズの曲が多いということで、曲自体は古い曲が主体になってますね。僕はもともとウィングスからこの洋楽の世界に足を踏み入れたので、もう少しウィングスの曲があるといいかなと思ってます。例えばマイ・ラブとか、それこそビーナスアンドマースからの選曲がもう少し多いと嬉しい感じ。
ただ、ビートルズの曲の選曲は素晴らしいです。往年のヒット曲も当然演奏されるのですが、それ以上にアルバムとして評価の高いサージェントペパーズロンリーハーツクラブバンド、ホワイトアルバム、アビーロードからの選曲が意外と多いというのは、渋いなあと思いしたね。特にEncore2の最後の３曲をアビーロードからというのが素晴らしい。
