ポール・マッカートニーのライブに備えて

ポール・マッカートニー2015ジャパン・ツアー

去年中止になったポール・マッカートニーのライブですが、今年は去年あんなことがあったから、ポール側もやらざるを得ないでしょうけれども、かくいう僕も外れるだろうと思って申し込んでいたのに、結局あたってしまったので、武道館ライブの噂や予習本等チェックしてみました。

ポール来日に伴う噂など

色々と噂を聞いていると、武道館ライブはやはりやるらしいということが、まことしやかに言われてますね。それも日程は4月29日だろうと。チケット代金に関しては、東京ドームで満席になった場合の金額を、武道館で入場出来る人数で割った料金になるだろうという話です。しかし、ポールにしても、あれだけ大ミュージシャンなんだから、そこまでお金を稼がなくてもいいんじゃないのと僕は思うのです。

商売熱心なポール

ポール・マッカートニーという人は、希代のメロディメーカーだと思いますし、それだけ素晴らしい曲を発表してきて、彼の右に出るアーチストは、恐らくローリング・ストーンズくらい。それだけの大物だし、彼がすごいところは未だに新作を作ろうとしているところです。曲の善し悪しは別としてね。ただ、ものすごいファンの人に言わせても、先日のニューアルバムの出来は評判が良くないですね。僕も買ったけど、あまり聴いていません。やはり、彼の偉大なところはといえば、ビートルズやウィングスで発表した楽曲だと思うんですよね。だから、一昨年ライブをした時に、オープニングはエイトデザインウィークで一気に盛り上がったけれども、次の曲が新作からの選曲ということで、一気にライブのテンションが下がったと聞いています。恐らくそうなんだろうと思います。

僕とポール・マッカートニーとの出会い

僕的には、ウィングスの「ヴィーナス・アンド・マース」を初めて聴いて、そこから洋楽を聞くようになったということもあって、ポール・マッカートニーというアーチストは、結構思い入れがある方です。この「ヴィーナス・アンド・マース」を皮切りにそれ以前のポールのアルバムはすべて小遣いで買い集めて、聞き入ったものです。その後僕は、ハードロックの方に向かっていったので、その後あまりポール・マッカートニーとの繋がりはなくなっていました。その後1990年代に来日して東京ドームでのライブがあまりにもひどかったということもあり、避けていたのですが、一昨年のライブの評判も良かったということもあって、シャレでぴあに登録をしたら、チケットがあたってしまったので、これは行ってこようと思います。

ポール・マッカートニー来日記念本

来日記念Bookみたいなものはないのかなあと思って、アマゾンで調べてみたら、ぴあがムック本を出版するということがわかりました。ただ、まだNow Printing中ということもあって、本のデザインはまだわかりませんが、予約を受付していますよ。
